The Master´s programme in Geomatics aims at providing you with an attractive education that will prepare you for work in governmental and private organisations as well as for research. It provides courses in a wide range of areas in the field of geomatics including geographic information systems (GIS), geodesy, remote sensing and computer science. The programme consists of three parts. The first part provides theoretical courses in e.g. computer science and statistics. The second part contains a number of courses in geographic information technology, focusing on data collection, data storage, data analysis, data distribution, and visualisation. The third and last part treats applications mainly focusing on environmental, physical and urban planning, and includes a one semester thesis.

 

Applicant qualifications:

BSc degree, and

Proven knowledge of English (equivalent to IELTS Academic test level 6: an overall mark of 6.5 and no section below 5.5).

Selection Process

The Sida Research Project (GIT sub-program) team leaders and potential local supervisors from DMI will invite selected candidates for an interview. The final selection be ubmitted to EMU staff capacity development office for approval. The outcome will be announced latest on 18th December 2017 and the admitted candidates will start their studies by February 2017
