Education
The GIS Centre offers a variety of individual courses and MSc programs in Geographical Information Science, Technology, and Geomatics through the Dept. of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science at Lund University.
Our educational services target primarily students, researchers and staff at Lund University, but also external clients.
The GIS education and training we offer range from tailored short courses to a complete University degree. The GIS Centre can also provide seminars and workshops upon request.
University Courses
Programs and courses in GIS/Geomatics are offered by Lund University. A variety of individual courses in GIS are given at both Bachelor and Master levels. Master's programs in Geographic Information Science/Technology are offered both on campus and as distance learning programs and adds an two extra years of studies (120 Hp) to a Bachelor degree. The courses offered within the Masters programs can also be taken as individual courses if .

Internal Training for Lund University
The GIS Centre offers GIS education to teachers and researchers at Lund University. It is for instance possible to attend an e-Learning course with some teacher supervision. Shorter educations for staff are free of charge.

The GIS staff can help put together courses aiming to increase the use of GIS in specific research field or teaching at specific disciplines. Examples can be to create a special practical exercise or develop a doctoral course.

External Courses
The GIS Centre offers its services by providing short teaching workshops, seminars, lectures, etc. We have extensive experience in teaching at local and regional governments, national and international as well as in the private sector.
